Aseel Honein is an Architect and the founding Managing Partner of Val de Fii sustainable real estate development company based in Lebanon. Throughout her game changer venture, she is rethinking development to address socio-cultural and environmental issues through public private collaborations, people participatory approach and raising awareness programs.
As part of the corporate social responsibility, her practice organizes ‘Parallel Studio’ workshops that evolved to become another venture: a design and technology academy for teenagers and young adults that offers a much-needed hands-on programs that address gender equity in the work place and building resilient communities. ‘Parallel Studio’ has been awarded several international and local awards and launched a new product into the market in response to the global pandemic called ‘Architecture in a Box’. Architecture in a Box products allow kids and teenagers to build towns and cities while learning languages, history, culture, science and entrepreneurship.
She also teaches at the university since 2011 several topics in Architecture and Business School which cultivated her leadership skills and triggered her interest in persistently seeking creating opportunities to expand the role of young graduates and women in STEAM fields in order to achieve economic advancement and prosperity in the community. She held various global workshops that revolve around design thinking and the inclusion of service design and social innovation in education in Spain, India, Belgium, Dubai, Lebanon, New York and Philippines.
